Lil Drake
I was told by some good friends the other day that we need to update our page. So here it goes. Big news since the last time I put anything on here. We have a new addition coming to the Purdy Family sometime around July 8th. Little Drake Field Purdy is in the oven now and already making a name for himself as a kicker. Hopefully a kicker for Texas Tech oneday. Ahhh, I can dream right? Well, hopefully more people than just Monica and Tom read this. At least I know they enjoy these rants somewhat. Either way, I guess I will spend more time on here keeping it updated. Sonogram pictures of Lil Drake coming soon.

Honeymoon
What can we say? It was hard to come back. We were enjoying our time away from Dallas alone so much we stayed an extra day in New Orleans. The first part of the trip was spent in Grande Isle, LA where we sat around the beach and drank beer and...well...made sand art...

The second part of our trip, we went to New Orleans. We stayed in the Warehouse District, which is more like the Condo District now. We were just a few minutes walk from the Aquarium, French Quarters , and the Super Dome. In fact, we went to the Saints/Texans preseason game, but had to hide our Dallas Cowboy attire in fear we may be lynched.

We made the most of our time there. Spent a day in the World Aquarium, took part in a haunted tour, and spent quite a bit of our down time on Bourbon Street.

In case you are wondering, we saw no ghosts on the haunted tour though it was very informative. Maybe the drinks we had right before we began our tour affected our senses somewhat. Which gets me to the down time. I'm sure you can take a couple of guesses on how we spent that. Here's a hint:

and
I'm sure everyone can see a reoccurring theme here. What can we say? We were having a good time, and with the planning and all of the other craziness that has been going on the past few months I think we both deserved to kick back a few. Ok, that might have been an understatement. If you want to see more honeymoon pictures you can visit our myspace pages or email us and we would be happy to share.

The Beginning
This will be a trial run at a website. Now that we are a family, we have decided we want everyone to know what is going on with us. The title to our site will be Purdy Party. The first unofficial Purdy Party was obviously the wedding, but starting sometime in mid 2009 we will have the Official First Inaugural Purdy Party. The reason behind the Purdy Party is simple: we enjoyed having all of our closest friends and family around us during our wedding so much, we wanted to start a tradition where we can continue to have that fellowship year after year. All friends and family will be invited. Due to our financial situation that we will be in during the next 2 years, the party will probably not be as elaborate as we would like, but we figure each year the Purdy Party will get better and better. We welcome any ideas. We will obviously keep everyone posted on our plans. The target date as of now is Memorial Day Weekend 2009. I know many go out of town on that weekend, but that will be a break Lindsey has before she goes to Houston for her clinicals. Any comments, ideas, or anything, please let us know. We want all of our loved ones to be involved in this. Thanks.
